Understanding Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky
The Ohio River connects more than two states.
It connects generations of families, neighborhoods, churches, businesses, and communities whose stories are marked by hard work, loyalty, resilience, and hope.
Having grown up in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, I carry a personal appreciation for the people, stories, and culture of this region.
Life here naturally crosses the river. Families, careers, schools, churches, friendships, and communities often span both states.
This region has also carried addiction, loss, economic change, family strain, and other challenges that can remain hidden behind capable lives.
Yet it is also home to people committed to restoration, second chances, and rebuilding.
What might become possible if survival no longer had to define your identity?
Resilience Deserves Understanding, Too
Resilience can help people endure extraordinarily difficult seasons.
It can look like working harder, caring for everyone else, staying prepared, pushing forward, or becoming the person others depend on.
Those strengths may have protected you and helped your family survive. They may also be leaving you exhausted, disconnected, or unsure who you are beyond what you carry.
At Lionheart, I won’t dismiss your resilience or ask you to abandon it.
We’ll become curious about how it developed, when it serves you well, and when it may have become a burden.
Your strengths deserve compassion, too.
The Lionheart Difference
At Lionheart Counseling, I begin with understanding.
Before focusing on strategies or solutions, we’ll take time to understand your story, the relationships that shaped you, the strengths that carried you, and the places where those same strengths may have become survival strategies.
You’ll find evidence-based clinical care, thoughtful Christian integration when it is meaningful to you, and a counseling relationship grounded in compassionate curiosity.
Because every person carries a story worth slowing down to understand.
Recovery & Restoration
Build a meaningful next chapter beyond addiction by strengthening identity, relationships, boundaries, purpose, and hope.
Chronic Stress, Burnout & Overfunctioning
Explore the cost of carrying too much and develop sustainable rhythms rooted in identity rather than constant responsibility.
Trauma & Story Integration
Understand how painful experiences continue to shape your present while moving toward greater freedom, connection, and peace.
Services Available in Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky
Secure virtual counseling is available for the following areas of care:
Adult ADHD & Neurodivergence
Make sense of how your brain works, release unnecessary shame, and build strategies that support everyday life.
Couples & Family Therapy
Understand recurring patterns, rebuild trust, and cultivate healthier ways of relating together.
Neurodivergent Adolescents & Teens
Helping young people discover who they are before the world convinces them they are someone they are not.
Recovery Is More Than Leaving Something Behind
Recovery may begin with sobriety, boundaries, treatment, or the decision to live differently.
Over time, deeper questions often emerge.
Who am I now?
How do I rebuild trust?
What kind of relationships do I want?
How do I live with purpose beyond my hardest chapter?
Therapy can provide space to explore these questions with honesty and hope.
Recovery is not only about what you stop doing.
It is about the person you’re becoming and the life you’re learning to build.
Recovery creates space for becoming.
Therapy That Fits Your Season
Some seasons call for the steady rhythm of ongoing counseling.
Lionheart offers secure virtual therapy for adults, couples, families, and teens throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, with care thoughtfully adapted to your goals and circumstances.
Other seasons may benefit from more focused time through The Wholehearted Journey.
Rather than fitting you into a predetermined process, we’ll begin by discerning what kind and rhythm of care best serves your story.
